There will be a surge with the reopening, undoubtably. But the reopening will happen in phases which should minimize the surge. As stated in the article, now they have experience, they are better prepared and know how to deal with it.

Unnecessarily locking people down and destroying business does not seem like a great political strategy. They have flattened the curve so much that it's paper thin in some areas (as previously mentioned regarding the empty hospitals and unused pop-up medical centers). There is a truth in this mess somewhere. But don't count on seeing it from the MSM. They are STILL reporting number of cases as if it matters. More tests, more cases. The death rate is the only thing relevant.

Ok so one who might be inclined towards theories 'could' opine that the end game is ultimately the election. No gatherings allowed = no campaigning. The worse thing that could happen to the blue candidate is a full blown public campaign, and of course a public debate. The best thing that could happen to the red candidate is a campaign. He'll let everyone know how he's the only one that can fix this economic mess. Not letting the blue campaign mean he can't step on his d@*k in front of cameras. Keeping the fear and spouting numbers, keeping a measure of lockdown until the election is strong reason for executive orders for mail-in voting. I saw first hand what ballot harvesting did here in 2016, I can imagine what would happen nationwide. Nancy's new stimulus package is offering to keep the $600 a week unemployment going until January. Why January, one might ponder? Yes, much fodder for theories of all sorts.

Damn girl. You are way better at this than me.

Colorado overstated deaths to the tune of 25%.

https://www.coloradoindependent.com/202 ... rst-cases/

Well, I called this one. Makes me wonder how many more States are like Colorado.

I still think there are more improperly coded cases.

... Pfft- that's a chip-shot. The easy answer is: "all of them" ;)

$$$$ is involved- Get a positive test result/diagnosis, and it's 19k in newly-printed federal Monopoly money to the hospital/health care provider.

Get a hospital admission, and it jumps to 39k, per patient...

Ambulanced into the ER after wrecking your motorcycle ? ... Business as usual.

Ambulanced into the ER after wrecking your motorcycle, and then testing positive for coronavirus? Cha-Ching: 39 large to the plus side of the hospital's balance sheet.

Now WHY on Earth would medical professionals choose to abandon ethics, simply to secure free/"easy" money...????

Yeah, I don't get it, either

San Diego County is reporting a bit over 200 COVID deaths. Friday one of their county supervisors reported that there are 'flaws' in their case counts, that there are actually only 6 legitimate COVID deaths. These are the only deaths that did not have underlying conditions. Kind od like moore_rb's analogy: die as a result of the motorcycle accident but test positive for COVID, list the death as COVID related.

Incentives for all!!! I want in on this deal. Heading to Telluride tomorrow (mask law in effect). Think I might go fully gowned just to make an impression and then bill the client for my PPE plus hazard pay.

From our County coroner.

"Canfield said that although he thinks the virus has been overblown by politicians who are “power-hungry, self-serving imbeciles,” it does exist and the danger increases with age and the addition of co-morbidities."

Well said.
