So a guy just gave me a 57 Desoto Fireflite

Everything seems to be there, and is unbelieveably straight. It was running when the guy left it in his barn 10 years ago, he moved it outside a couple years ago because the guy who owned it lost interest and walked away.

That's a pretty cool looking ride. Looks to be a good project.

What is it with those monsterous front bumpers?... must be because the braking systems on those old cars were less than optimal?
BTW.... here are some pics of me and my wife's 57 Studeford.... what the Heck is a Studeford? its a 57 Studebaker with the front clip of a ford Granada grafted under the skin along with the 302, C4 Auto and the 8 inch rear dif... :D and of course the monsterous front bumper...

57 Fireflite = HUUUUUGE. Even Cadillac had nothing on Desoto when it came making 7-ton automobiles. 8-)

Is there still an original 341 hemi under the hood? If there is, and if you can make it start and run, then you just scored a free paycheck. There are hot-rodders out there that will pay you a fast 1000-1500 bucks for that engine if it runs.

every thing is there. Freed up the hood hinge and aired up the tires(had to replace the 2 rears). Got the frozen brake freed up, bring it home the weekend of the 27th. He has a couple 2 door cadi convertibles in the barn. I could get one of those for about about a days worth of work on the other one. I just don't know how many rigs I want around.

You can never have enough toys around the house! I just wish I had Jay Leno's money to back up that statement!
