I second that OUCH! I think that's my total budget for brakes! ;-)

Thanks Plateucal for digging up another relic. I will say if the part is knew and the plunger rod is perfect that isn't a bad deal based on the costs to restore one.

I snarfed up the starter solenoid earlier today.

I’m so glad I put the master cylinder originality to rest 16 years ago!

I am with you on that. I had one of my new Protex front wheel cylinders fail on me a while back. I was still able to stop; how nice! I like being a stickler for originality but the cost benefit analysis of a dual reservoir system is hard to ignore. In retrospect I would have done things differently and gone with an adapter like Robert did, but slightly different. A properly contrived adapter opens up a whole different world of retrofits considering that you can find a variety of 1" diameter masters if you have the option of changing the bolt orientation by 90 degrees.

Would the above mentioned MC work on a 64?

Yes it will. Nothing changed regarding the MC up to 1972, except the reservoir.
