Just thought I would toss this out there to see if there is any interest. As best as I know this is a complete frame. It has some little, but important, details that some of the repro's seem to be missing.

Hi. My reproduction is for model 1968 and forward. You are rigth mine in my pictures is different. What midel is your car? After 1968 the rear pipe is bolted on top of car body. In oldest models the rear Pipe croos the top of body and is bolted on bottom. I am complete sure because I have a 1964 and 1981 100% original. There a couple details more different depending of model. Please see pictures that I will load. When some body ask for one is necessary clarify the model of the car. I can build for any model. Thanks

Good points Raul, thank you.

I think the one in the first picture is a '67. That is the only year I know that had the support from the edge of the tub to the top between the two side windows. Prior and later years did not have that. The frame seems mostly complete. The only pieces I see missing are #45 in the parts diagram. These are usually missing and don't detract from the use. Someone added lift dot studs on the piece above the doors, but that can easily be fixed.

L60Boerne - yes, this is an original frame.

Thaks Riverpatrol. You are right. On my puctures I do not show part #45. It is used on original canvas to keep tense the canvas.

Anytime I have a question, I just have to read through the different threads and you have already answered it. I was wondering what part #45 was for. Now I know. I have the original canvas frame for a 1967 and it seems pretty complete from the diagram. I do not however have the canvas for it.

Part #45 (and #44) are for the bottom of the side curtain. They actually slide through a long loop sewn into the side curtains. I think the purpose is to keep the side curtain from flapping while driving, to keep it stable. Originals are rare, even with complete original soft tops; of three I think I have one set. A makeshift set can easily be made.

I actually do have these original pieces (#44 and #45) so I should be good. I just didn't know their purpose as there was not a shred of canvas left on Edgar.
