Need 61-65 Project Patrol

Patrols for sale

Postby L60Boerne » Sat Apr 06, 2019 5:49 am

If anyone is ready to get rid of their project Patrol I think one of my mechanics would be interested. 65 year model or older would be best as my spares would fit.
If interested please send me a PM.

Greetings Patrollees Worldwide,

Several people have asked what my fascination with the vintage Patrol is. It is simple, they are tools to me. I need them for the type of hunting we do. Yes, I need one more "hunter grade", not museum quality which has already addressed as well.

Practical Reasons
What mechanical point makes them so useful to me? Two points actually. First and foremost is the cooling system. The oversized military brass radiator keeps the motor cool while we patrol for axis deer at 5 mph or less for hours on end in 100 degree heat. That is severe duty on any motor and the Patrol can take it. Modern motors depend on air flow and radiator surface area. Second, once I get them installed...the manual throttle. It really makes it more comfortable to patrol because our 3-5 mph troll really doesn't need to change for long periods.

Fun Reasons
Well, they are just fun in Colorado but I am vexed because I can't get comfortable with them on the 13,000 ft mtn passes. It is a real drag but I'm not giving up but Im not going to be unsafe either. Apparently it is like vacationing in Mexico. As long as you are not harmed you think it was a "safe" vacation. When Mexico is in fact an extremely unsafe vacation country. So if I patrol at 13,000 feet I might get comfortable once or twice but it is truly a safe routine course of action?

Just so you know.

Patrolling with everyone's parts,

I know you had said '61 to '65 but this one looks like a good starter:

This is not what L60Boerne told me. He likes them because they look cool and it is very easy to wash out the spilled beer after a hard day afield. That and the windshield folds down so you can shoot while seated (thus the spilled beer).

For the record. I am no longer looking for a Project Patrol. Three is enough.
