Patrols for sale

Postby Edgar » Mon Apr 08, 2019 9:15 pm

I saw this one come up this morning on Facebook Marketplace: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/281233102768811/
No relation here. Seller's Description: "Solid little project here. Everything is here for a very OG Nissan Patrol. This little truck turns heads, gets thumbs up, and will go right up any forest service road you can find. I brought it back from Butte Montana. It has good brakes, good metal, solid top, all electrical is working, all the glass is there, seats are sounds, headliner is there but it has some character. The patina paint is awesome, or you can get your body work on and really make this 4x4 sparkle.

The bad. It is in need of some engine work. I thought the oil pump was bad when I got it, it’s good to go. But the engine does not hold oil pressure and has a slight tick, NOT A KNOCK.

Small rust, nothing like the classic FJ40’s very simple for the right guy. Floors are SOLID!

I’ve got too much going on to give this project the attention it needs. Grab this little blue fella up and get it running for the summer.

Call me or Text with questions.

That has a lot of good potential. And the oil pressure problem might be something simple, like the oil filter parts missing or the check ball gummed up.
Beyond any hope for intervention

I spoke to Adam today. Very nice and honest guy. The Patrol is in very good condition though it sounds as if, and he agrees, the motor main bearings might have an issue. His dad is a full mechanic, as he is too...so they have gone through the check list of potential causes and solutions.

Patrolling in Santa's Sleigh today,

At that price, it's still a worthy project.
