Greetings to Patrollees,
Just an update on Phoenix Patrol. It was a bit rougher than I'd hoped, but then I'm a dreamer. It sports very low rust and largely original.
The top is not rusty, but not rust free. It it a bit dented on top, no big deal. I have the interior bow supports.
Next steps:
A). Refurb Radiator and hoses
B). Refurb gas tank and lines
C). Rebuild and return to OEM fuel pump
D). Rob Moore Petronix upgrade for ignition
E). Wheel cylinders and brake lines
F). Replace gauges with working with less patina
G). Restore Choke knob and cable
H). Rebuild carb
I). Remove hard top..forever....not sure about soft top..depends on end use.
J). Regardless of end use it needs paint in and out, door panels too.
K). Search the world over for a map light. Pray..repeat.
L). Restore seats to OEM seats
M). Shifter dust covers
N). Replace all fluids though oil looked fresh
O). Remove door upper so lines clean up
I have all the door frames and rear doors. If anyone is thinking about this Patrol now is the to let me know. At this point it can be a hard top or soft. Though I like this more every day and the parts that have sent my way adds weight to my decision.....but plan B is good too.
Pretty cool to see original felt wrap on belts around the fuel tank.
I think a friend wants this one..if so, I have plan B in my sights. This one is a keeper so maybe it leaves the ranch, maybe it doesn't.
A few pictures from Eddy the Eagle's Lair.
Patrolling with your parts,
