Robin, I will be bringing back two complete axles in early August that Plateaucal gave me. They came from his donor and it was in very good shape from the parts I've seen. My plan was for Rafael to rebuild them to "as new" for someone.. someday. But if you need parts I will likely have them.

Concerning the rear gears. I was given a locked set of rear gears, my mechanic was afraid for me to use them so I still have them if you want them.

Well 2018 is over. Still trying to catch my breath. Fire clean up, then catching up on all the work that was set aside was brutal.
I was able to get my rear end fixed. Sourced all the bearings and dropped it at my buddies shop in Auburn CA. His buddy from the the shop next door walked in and said "hey that's a Patrol axle". So he rolled the cart next door and fixed it between jobs
So WFO Concepts has some people in the know.
Since then I have been swamped but got the axles with new bearings and seals, made the bearing tool

next chance will be brakes.
Hopefully I will get to work around here, but heard we are sending crews to the Paradise clean up. Just what I need, 3 months of nights, then sent out of town.

Robin - slow progress is better than no progress. Keep up the good work. Maybe you and I will finish at the same time - in the mId 2020s.

So when I pulled the sway bar off I snapped all the bolts in the frame, so drilled and tapped those today. Trimmed the sleeves for the spring bushings, then hung the front of the springs.

Then just cleaned up and painted some parts, need to let the swaybar dry.

Know anyone that need some old bastard pack springs or a winch? The fronts have 2 extra leaves, the rears have 3, want to talk about a rough ride. The marks doesn't have a place for a pto, so the winch isn't doing me any good.

Been able to get out in the shop a little, so relined brakes, turned drums, new wheel cylinders, and lines. I'll swap out the soft line once it's under the Patrol.

The Marks requires a rear PTO.

So I had last Monday off and got a little done on the patrol, doing every thing by myself lets me be creative.

First you get this pig out of the shop and back to the patrol. (It's really not that bad until you mount the brakes and drums)

Then you get it ready to go under the Patrol.

Then you put it over the springs and find out they sent you the wrong u-bolts

So you spend an hour chasing the threads on the old u-bolts and go order some new ones.

So while I was waiting around for u-bolts I cleaned up my shackles then yesterday pressure washed all the old grease old grease from the hangers. Pushed the pins out of the shackles and rotated them 180° since they only wear on one side. Then had lunch with the in laws. After lunch the drive way had dried up some, so I hung the rear of the springs. Then the mailman showed up with my u-bolts. Off with the old and on with the new. New grease zerks then in for the eve. Today I hung the new shocks, sway bar, and drive shaft.

Then I put the tires back on set on the ground and tightened up every thing.

All new hard and soft brake lines are installed, bled the brakes.
Rebuilt the Clutch master cylinder, freed up the adjuster. Have a new slave cylinder to go in. Have new soft line, and material to make a new hard line. Need to grab a couple copper washers, and a return spring and we be driving.

Looks like Energy Suspension 9.8106 sway bar end link bushings are what fit. let you know in a couple days.

Oh yeah, better not forget to fill the rear diff.

Clearing all the extra stuff from under the hood, pulled the tank valve and all the extra hoses. Next will be the PA speaker, and all the go nowhere wires.
