Thanks RiverPatrol. Edgar looks good from some angles but we have a lot of rust to get cleaned up. May need a new rear tub.

Actual Mileage. Edgar hasn't been registered since 1979.

Yes, Edgar was used as a snowplow exclusively from 1967 to 1979 at which point the restaurant closed due to road expansion. He has not been registered since that time. We inherited the plow which will be coming off as we start to put him back together.

Excessive rust unfortunately is pretty common with a vehicle that has been used as a plow, as well as low mileage. It does appear to have been kept under cover though, the condition of the gauges speaks to that. It should be a fun project.

Yes indeed you are starting with a good one. Patrols are fun to find and fun to restore. My advice is try your hardest to have repairs made by someone who has done it before...even if you have to ship it off on a trailer...you will dollars ahead as every mechanic says they can fix them up but once they pull them apart they have big trouble which will cost you 2-3x what it should cost. To a mechanic they "look" simple, which is generally the case for an experienced Patrol mechanic, but they are not to the inexperienced.
Patrolling when possible,

After a long trailer ride home which included a drive over Parley's Summit near Park City in a snow storm Edgar is finally indoors in his new home.
Spent the evening tearing out the old horse blankets used as seat covers and cleaning out the muck.
