seeing a patrol flat and on pallets is a pretty weird thing. You cannot unsee it.

It seems that motor mounts are a little hard to find! Any ideas on who may sell them? Sadly, no joy on ebay right now. Does anyone have some spare motor mounts they'd be interested in parting with? Three of the mounts are torn - I'm sure that #4 is nearly as bad! Basically, I need all four!

John,

I'm sure those engine mounts can be fixed.

Years ago, while still living in Ecuador, my wife overturned in a MQ wagon (Patrol 160 over there) and 3 of the engine bases broke. Similar engine, with the P40 inside. Could't find any spares, and a guy sent me to a local shop that among the things they did was repairing damaged engine mounts. They basically cast again the rubber. It's an artisanal process. The mounts looked and performed very good when the job was done. I kept that car for a few months after it.

The good thing about the Patrol is that the engine is naturally balanced, so the mounts don't do much work. I've seen Patrols run with a broken base for extended periods. The rear ones specially, are difficult to spot. I think there might be some guys out there that are doing this kind of repair. Too many antiques will need them.

email this guy our32@aol.com

He made the rebound stops for me years ago, if you need some of those I'm sure he can make you a set of those while he is fixing your mounts.

I can not recall for the life of me what the business name is

4WD Products in Australia had some. I think they had a batch made.

Many G6O people have purchased brakes and 4WD stuff from them.

4WD Produts are on eBay.com.au but their engine mounts are not there. I can't seem to find their web site.

It may be worth while making contact with them.
Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

Then-N-Now Automotive in Massachusetts can re-vulcanize a set of original engine mounts- I sent a set of mine to them years ago for them to make the molds from,

Thanks all! Em and I spent a couple nights hiding out in the mountains where it's ten degrees cooler! Now back in the valley enjoying the BBQ-like atmosphere... hot and smoky!

Anyway, River has a good used set and I reached out to 4WD Products to see if they have new ones. I checked with Then-N-Now (they did my fuel pump... excellent work too) -- but they are really, really proud of their mounts! Ouch!

Hopefully I'll have an Australian answer in a day or two then I'll pull the trigger on used or new mounts!

On another note -- I've been building this for the past week. Tonight, I put it to use!

A new stand!

That's awesome... 8-)

Agree on Then N Now's pricing on the engine mount restore. Definitely should be considered the "last resort, all out of other options" scenario.
