1967 Family Patrol Project

Builds, refurbishments, restorations, upgrades

I loved that movie! Part of it was filmed in the city I grew up and lived in at the time. I can blame that movie for my passion for cars. I still have a poster of a Countach Lamborghini. :D

Yeah, DHL rocks it...

My Marks5 left Tim's old house on the Friday before Labor Day weekend, and arrived at my house the Tuesday right after Labor Day.

Lookie, lookie! Our Marks is on US Soil and has cleared customs! The exact language is "Shipment has been given a release by Customs." with a stern warning of "Unless there is an adhoc exam or a stop by another regulatory authority the shipment will proceed to delivery"

Tomorrow appears to be the day!

As in today! ;-) It's lucky Friday the 13th! After the luxurious flight with the meal and movie, the poor Marks was forced to wait in the long line at customs. The was packed like sardines for hours and hours up Highway 5. They did make a stop in San Francisco today at 5am... Only 100 miles remain of the 7989.12 mile long journey (well, as the really fit crow flies).

IT'S HERE!

Just a thought, but DHL really oughta train their employees on good lifting techniques... Or suffer big worker's comp claims!

This may be a dumb question, but shouldn't we orient the box with the arrow pointing down up here in the Northern Hemisphere? After all, the box had the arrow written on it while it was still "Down Under!" ;-)

Looks good in my yard! Looks the it's time on the road wasn't too bad. The custom made case weathered the trip well!

Of course, we're waiting to open it until the whole Family Patrol can help. It's pretty heavy, so there must be lots of goodies in it! Of course, I'll post pictures of the unboxing!

By the way, thanks Tim!

Check out what I stumbled on while out driving in the foothills today...

I barely had time to pull over and take the picture so I didn't check out the vehicle in the background. Anyone know what it is?

Nice Find(s)!

Did you buy it (them) yet?

What are you waiting for.

You really need another patrol, and an early 50's Willys Wagon to go with them.

Just a quick Merry Xmas to everyone on the board! I actually did something on the Patrol today. I swapped the fuel pump out! Of course, the fuel filter still stays nearly empty... is this normal? In my experience, the fuel filter typically runs mostly full. Anyway, lookie at the shiny new pump!

And a comparison between the newly installed pump (left) and the one that came off...

On a related note -- Boy, there is a lot of work to be done under the hood right now!

Things have been a little slow around here with our Patrol... In fact, it's been parked for a couple months even! There was a break in the weather yesterday so Jay and I drove the Patrol around a bit and decided to check out the water level at Folsom Lake. Of course, we had to test our Patrol's ability to ford the parking lot moat! We crossed it heading to the lake itself -- Jay wanted to film it on the way back, so he hopped out an ran the camera -- I love the squeals of delight in the video

Here's the video: http://pics.balestrini.net/Patrols/Patrol/i-778Fp8f/A

And, a teaser from the video...
