Hi guys,
yesterday we finished the heater installation. I had purchased the wrong fitting from ebay, so we had to wait for the new one to come in. For reference, we used a 1.75" x 1.75" x 5/8" fitting for the lower radiator hose. It came with the typical band type fasteners, but we replaced with the wire clamps, which although not factory, are closer to factory than the band clamps.

we cut out 3/4 inch from the hose so that the completed dimensions are about the same as when we started (this hose is a replacement that I obtained from 4wd products in Australia).

Contents of the radiator. You would never know that we flushed this out 3 months ago. We did flush it again yesterday. followinng the instructions by putting radiator flush in and idling the engine for 30 minutes. Does anyone have any other recommendations? I just think I have a lot of rust in the internals of the engine or radiator. Maybe I just keep flushing every couple of months until the coolant stays green?

I love the child labor! I say just flush regularly... I like that hose T-fitting.

It is fully functional. Might be working too well though. I had it in the driveway on idle for 45 minutes letting the radiator flush do its thing. The temperature just didn't get there. I don't think it got above 180. thinking this was due to the additional coolant capacity that i have with the addition of the heater core. Blower works fine and no leaks, so I call that success.

Excellent progress!

Regarding cleaning the cooling system, you've done a lot already. Once you start driving it regularly I will do another flush but after some months.

Good find on the adapter for the heater hose. Please post the link if you have a chance.

I bought 3 of these things on ebay in total before I found the right size (1 3/4" x 1 3/4" x 5/8). Ebay seller is AutoCoolingSolutions. Fast shipping on all 3 that I purchased.

The wire clamps - ebay seller tibwholesales - also very good service.
heater hose - 3/4" - 1" range:

Radiator Hose 1 7/8" - 2 1/4" range

Great find on the adapter for the heater hose. I was about to pull the trigger on one for mine, but then I remembered that my aftermarket heater is with only 1/2" dia. hoses. In any case, I've saved the link for future use, along with that for the wire clamps.

Thanks.
