Happy Easter everyone,
While I anxiously await the VW TDI transplant, I decided to tackle a little more rust. The rust repair continues slowly - I have cut out rust on every corner of the tub. Now it's time for the bed floor itself, which is rusted at the edges where it meets the wheel tubs, has been welded to in "lets cover it up and hope that it fixes itself" attempts by the POs, is severely pitted and generally lived a very hard, but undoubtedly productive life.
I cut about 2 inches up from the wheel wells since that needs to be replaced anyway.
Here's the old floor. the crossmembers on the back are good and probably could be re-used, but I have what I'm hoping will be a much cooler solution in mind for the floor, which will require new crossmembers. stay tuned, but don't hold your breath
