L60Boerne's Santa's Sleigh

Builds, refurbishments, restorations, upgrades

SBP,

Thank you, the red Patrol was reconditioned by a fellow Patrollee named Chris V down in Louisiana. To his credit, he put many dollars and hours in bringing back from the dust but asked nothing more than the next guy keep it original, if possible. The next guy, Byron, tuned it further and when he was to the point of trying to update it for ease of drivability be decided to sell it rather than chop and crop. He sold it for what costs he put into it which included putting a jeep soft top and frame on it which we will have to look at closely.

My plan it to fix everything that needs it (it might need some new hoses, maybe rebuild some pumps etc) then make a decision. I know I need to file for a lost title too. I think it might be better than either of my first two. Then again I my offer it for sale to someone who wants. It will not be hard to unload.

Eddy the Eagle is already shining up his wrenches in anticipation.

Regards,

The guy in Boerne who owns just two Patrols, if asked.

He's dragging her home as we speak. This means another couple of years of hand holding with one of our favorite Patrolee's.

Right. Correcting what others did wrong prior, then moving forward to make it reliable.

Hello Patrollees Worldwide,

The eagle has landed! WE WILL MAKE THIS PATROL GREAT AGAIN!

The red Patrol with a clear history back to 1965 is in Houston on its way to Eddie the Eagle! This Patrol, demands that I pay attention to self preservation. Therefore, Hershel, my engineer in Houston, will own this one. He, like many of you, can actually do just about anything to a vehicle. So he will pilot this ship.

Now, I've been tied up in Lake City. Today, I used the white Patrol's PTO winch to position Platauecal's axles on my trailer for trip back to Texas next week and Rafael's workshop.

Here are a few pics on the red Patrol coming to Texas. It needs a bit of work but Chris V. already hit a big lick. Now, the guy in the middle, Byron, was quite the opportunist. Regardless, we are ready to bend your ears, borrow your parts and ask for advice for helping my elves get this sleigh ready for Christmas!
Pics in next message.
Patrolling with friends,
L60Boerne

Santa's Sleigh has arrived at Eddy's workshop. It has many good points with a really smooth sounding motor that has at least 130,000 miles on it.

We will start with the drivetrain and work our way through it from there. We have several trained elves now and we expect a good outcome.

Chris V. had bought a new carb and I think we will try to put it on.

I love the old school tires but they are bit too far gone. The strongest points of this sleigh are:
A). True Soft top
B). Waterproof Distributor Cap
C). Minimum of Rust
D). Smooth Running
E). Terrific Restoration by Chris
F). Good Suspension
G). Great Farm Type Bumpers and wench
H). Lots of Support from Patrollees

Low Points
A). Byron, buyer from Chris, welded on a half canopy
B). Can't drive it for six months
