Old Ford blue and Cummins tan should make a nice combo. Looking at my transfer case I could not find any hint of blue. But it was not seafoam green either, it looks more like a tan color. On the trans I did find a small amount of blue and the top cover appears to have had black on it.

Duplicolor engine paint. From napa, O'Reilly's, or meijers. There are three different colors of Ford blue, napa was the only one that carried the old Ford blue.

Got transfer case back together. Replaced 3 bearings in it the rear bearing is 6208NR and front of case is 6208. The third bearing in up front in the nose cone, it is 6307NR.

I also replaced the seals in both trans and TC. I found recommendations on the forums. The pinion seals a quite tight but the other two seem to work fine.

I have everything back together except for the output seals, I am going to see if I can find a better fitting seal.

Congratulations and thanks for posting these! Looks great!

Did you check the conditions of caged needle bearings inside the big gear (low/high), and also the axle that they run onto?

Years ago I had problems with that axle and had to replace it. I'm worried now on sourcing the caged needle bearings.

All of the needle bearings in the transfer case looked good. The roller bearings were also good but since I already bought them I decided to change them out.

Went back and re-read some posts and found where rmp&o posted a link. It still works so I ordered 4 of the correct pinion seals.... now we wait.

Well the UD seals from the http://www.amayama.com site are the correct seals for the pinions and the outputs on the transfer case. They go in perfectly and fit the yokes perfect. Thank you RMP&O for posting that link several years ago.

Took apart the rear driveshaft, cleaned and painted it. While waiting for the paint to dry I cleaned and inspected the universal joints. Everything looked good so I was able to reuse them. I read in so other forums that there is not a direct replacement part. I took a look on the amayama website using the nissan part number and a part for UD came up but it was $98 each.

Hey nice driveshaft and u-joint resto :-) I'm getting deja vu. just be careful not to damage the lip of the caps when hammering back together I actually bent mine pretty good by misaligning and had to bend it back a bit before reassembling. Cheers

I am using a balljoint/universal joint tool to take apart and reassemble. those angled sides on the yokes are not a bit helpful thought!
