Does anyone know if the studs at the top of the steering knuckle are removed easily? Are they simply threaded in? I am thinking of taking the cap off, removing the studs, and using longer studs so I can attach a high steer arm in this location.

There is more than enough beef in the knuckle for what you are considering, but I think the studs would probably need to be hogged out and re-tapped to 7/16 -20, minimum, so they can be torqued to 90+
