returning to this...my original plan was to replace the OEM studs with a longer length stud, attach a high steer arm, and then a nut on each stud. what if I replaced the studs/nuts with long, Grade 8 bolts instead? Nope- you have to use grade 8 studs- Twice as much clamping power as an equivalent sized bolt
I found the steering drag link that was used on my lifted green Patrol, and I noticed that it looks like it was heated and bent to clear the passenger side spring more easily... I have no use for it, so if you want it badly enough to pay for the shipping, you can have it.... That could at least buy you some time while you design a more robust solution.
