Unfortunately I wrote all the measurements down on paper instead of my phone so I'm not positive at the moment. I'll be home in about 6 weeks then I'll post all the exact measurements. What I can tell you for sure, that you can see in the next video I'm going to post, is that the new setup is about 7-8 inches longer than the original. The original driveshaft had 16 inches of pipe so the new one would be about 9 inches, plus the U-joints. With a double cardan it'll be right at the limit. We shall see if it works.

Not planning on it. It has 30's on it right now which gives it an ideal height in my opinion. However, if it ends up being necessary to get the driveshaft to work then...maybe.

lifting the patrol will make the driveshaft business worse, as it will increase your driveline angle even more. would actually be best to lower it lol

this is why i didn't go with a 5 speed when I did my swap....i knew i would run into rear driveshaft problems with a longer trans.

Here's the latest video. https://youtu.be/3Tz1thLtCH0
I think it's got some pretty good stuff in it that'll be of interest to a lot of people who are thinking about similar projects. Here's another teaser photo. Enjoy!

i bet you'll need to somehow change that rear output on the TC and use a CV head there adapted to the OEM driveshaft. The good part is, the patrol driveshaft tube is the correct size to go on a standard CV head for 2" .120 wall tubing. good luck!

Well hopefully something or other will make it work. I could potentially slot out my motor mounts and move the 292 about an inch forward, but that's all. I really don't want to have to go to a V8 as I wager it's going to be a lot more work than I'm expecting. But I'm hoping, by the end of September, to get the thing to a custom drive shaft shop here in Vegas and see what they have to say about it once the new tranny and t/c are in place.

Crazy thought -- Go with a full IRS! Would certainly help deal with the short driveshaft issue while increasing your center clearance!
