zed wrote:After many months of looking at photos of Patrols, I decided that 529 Pagota Red would be the final color. One factor that waved heavy in my decision was that shades of red seen on many vehicles (not specifically Patrols or other 4x4) attract more potential buyers, and therefore command higher prices, than non-red. The exception being white for work/commercial vehicles.

I always viewed the money spent on the Patrol to be an investment. When/if the time comes for me (or my heirs) to sell I wanted to maximize the ROI.

Yup, "resale red" is a very real dynamic, in my personal experience.

Hmmmm , yet another reason that I am crazy for keeping my 62 green... and honestly, I think red soft top Patrols with the olive drab canvas look BOMBER.

HOWEVER- I'm still not as crazy as RP, because statistics show that yellow is BY FAR the worse color for resale (followed by green.. :( )

Oh, and Keith, we STILL need to see a recent picture of yours... I promise not to insult your turn-signals... I was just having a little fun....

The Patrol is in hibernation..I haven’t touched it in 9 months. No effort equals no photos.

I am working on my 240Z interior refresh. 50 years old and she has to be presentable for the anniversary party.

I thought we had already determined that I was crazier? And since I’ll never get to actually paint one color choice is moot.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Yeah, but the needle on that scale never sits still for very long...

Hey, I've still got a gallon of the blue paint I mixed up for the Marty Robins machine.... All I need to do is add a pint of dark royal blue to it, and DGP could be looking pretty snazzy in a year (or 10)

That is the one project I still hold out hope to complete.

Now that we've completely jacked this thread... :text-threadjacked:

Unfortunateley, they also came with glass turn signal lenses (the creme de la creme of bone-headed ideas on a 4x4 truck  )

All retorts, or requests for grievance can be remitted to "www. rob doesn't want to hear it.com"

Whatever, Mr. "My Patrol is the rarest of all time, due to the sheer enormity of its billboard-sized front turn signals, and plastic Fisher Price steering wheel....

The unique lightweight marker light housing assemblies on the 69 Patrol were the result of the most advanced achievements in plastics technology at the time. Further, due to the reduction in component weight and optimal placement on the vehicle this technology served to optimize the Patrol's world class off-road prowess through improvements in center of gravity and visibility. The only greater achievement in the world of off road capability was the development of coil springs. BTW, what is a thread?

The black dog has finally found my arse. I will be painting it myself...with the help of my friends. Just interior, primer OEM gray.

Local shops around here know me... unfortunately.

It will be painted in my garage. Friends have all the gear.

I like the weathered white. Exterior paint doesn't last long around me anyway. Just gotta run out the blue interior.

No step for a stepper.

Patrolling towards the paint booth,
