I never thought about Treadwrights for the Patrol. It won't be driven that much, so, why not?

Today, I had the Treadwright tires mounted. Four (4) mounted and balanced without any problems.

One (1) tire would require 20+ ounce of balance weight, an unacceptable amount. This tire was test fitted to three rims, in every instance an unacceptable amount of balancing weight. (The test fitment ensured that it was not a rim related problem.)

I have notified Treadwright and am waiting for their remedy.

I had a BFG AT KO with the same problem, so nobody's guaranteed to not have a tire that needs a lot of weight.

WOW. im glad these dont go fast, that could really hurt if they flung off there. I mounted my BFG KM2s on my split rims and i dont have any weights on them. Believe it or not i dont have any vibrations at any speeds, and i have had this up to 70mph or so. :D

Keith,
You know I like a good value and the subject of tire cost has come up before! ;) ;) Different opinions may shoot me down but I would state my experience even to a stranger in this regard. But dude, this is serious.....I am very concerned for your safety. Even if you will keep your fresh show car out of the dirt....I am worried about this method. I lost an uncle to an accident driving on retreads and watched it happen. Yes, very attractive and really "pencil in" to a good price but, my opinion, a horror going faster than 35 mph.
Maybe they are just rollers for a show car? Perfect! Sorry but I have to say it...... :!: :!: :!:
