Fj40 shackles

Bottoms out? Shimmies? Shackles, springs, shocks, steering linkage etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Suspension' category are here.

Is there a reason they wouldn’t work?

Both use 5/8 pins. The dimensions look very close holding my g60 shackles up to a friends fj40.

I just put new trailer shackle plates and pins on my patrol.

The specs were identical - sorry this is in metric - 16mm holes in plates. Plates were 4 or 5 mm thick and were about the same length as the original ones. Shackle pins were 16mm thick, greasable, 100mm long with a nylon lock nut.

I ended up putting in shackle plates that were 25mm longer to give a little lift.

So if FJ have the same spec then they should work.
Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!
