Paint codes

Wiring diagrams, Spring specs, etc

Postby RMP&O » Sat Apr 18, 2015 1:49 pm

So the paint codes are all listed in the end of the parts books. Just like 250g60 posted. Now if you have access to an old Datsun/Nissan paint chip book you can reference the Patrol paint codes and numbers in these books. While the parts books just say 562 "blue", 558 "green" ect ect with the paint chip book you get the actual real names of the colors such as "dragon green" using the codes listed in the parts books. The only real problem is these codes are somewhat lost in time, meaning a paint shop can get or may have the info but they can't just order up the color anymore. So it needs to be reproduced and mixed in house by the paint supply shop. Which they can do.

I have the Nissan paint chip book that paint shops use. I will see if I can scan the pages in it with the Patrol colors and get these uploaded.

Cheers

Also that grey interior paint, I am 99.5% sure it was a N. American spec only thing. Never seen a Patrol outside N. America with the grey interior paint. Odd that Nissan would do that for only 2,616 trucks though.

Then I really need to find the back page of a 1962 parts book, to see what shades of green were supposed to be available on 62's... :D :D :D

The earliest parts book I have is from 1965, then a '65 - '67. The paint codes are not listed in the '65, but they are in the '65 - '67, which is the exact same pages that 250g60 posted above.

Good luck finding that '62 parts book. Let me know when you do because I want a copy, especially if it has paint codes. ;)

I got the 62 parts book. Unfortunately there are no paint codes listed in it. :(

I don't know that there ever was a code for the engine colors. Here's a thread discussing engine colors: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2468&hilit=paint

Has anyone identified an aerosol spray paint that matches the off-white/cream color of the door panels and hardtop, Masonite similar panels?
