Service chart with capacities, gaps, procedures - everything

Wiring diagrams, Spring specs, etc

Postby RiverPatrol » Wed Mar 20, 2013 10:57 am

This is a newbie mechanic's/newbie Patrol owner's dream! All of those maintenance questions answered in one place: what is the gap for points and plugs? What type of oil should I use in the diff? What is the valve clearance? What is the firing order? What should the compression be? etc, etc - it's all here! Download the pdf file, print it out and nail both pages to your garage wall or tape it to your tool box for reference.

I would imagine anyone can read through this and learn at least one thing you didn't know before.

Great chart.
I grew up in Western New York. Esso and Sunoco were the two main service center, supplying 5-7 grades of gasoline. I never knew they produced literature for their dealers to service vehicles.
Thanks for the posting.

I don't ever recall seeing Esso on the west coast. Surprisingly, this came from OZ.

Keith
Esso- "Put a Tiger in your Tank!" was the motto when I was a kid.
I also remember Sunoco because during the gas crunch of the 70's I lived in McLean, VA. East coast gas. They were giving out football cards and an album/book that you would collect them in. I still have them.
These are a lot older :character-oldtimer: so maybe Miksum remembers these... ...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDqftcicpFY
If you pulled into a gas station today and two guys were standing there singing....would you worry? Dont spill your coffee at about 00:42 sec. The second commercial has characters and graphics very close to the Patrol glovebox owners manual, classic images.
