Countershaft bearing failure

This bearing is in the front.im not sure why it failed,but it looks like the lower race started riding forward.i can't upload the full pic.i can send it in a email.is there supposed to be a flat washer behind this bearing?mine didn't have it.

Bearings typically fail on these engines due to mileage or mainly over revving the engine. No flat washers are used for spacing them when installed.

You're not too far from me, I'm in Temecula, just down the 15. I used to be in Devore, much closer to you.

I can't upload the pics from the service manual.but it states,raise countershaft gear assembly with hand thru power take off hole.insert front washer and drive in roller bearing.this washer the service manual says to put in is on the front counter shaft behind bearing.its just weird it wasn't there but manual says it should.thanks for the reply.

Okay, now I know which washer you're referring to. Yes, there should be something there. Apparently this engine has been apart before.

That image doesn't look anything like my transmission.the bearing I'm talking about is right below the input shaft bearing.i wish I could up load my full size pictures.doesnt work on my phone.

I think the picture you're referring will be like the following taken from the Parts Manual.

And the washer should be #5 on the diagram: Washer Counter Shaft, Front 32224-30100

I hope the counter shaft is not damaged, so a new bearing can be installed. From postings from other members I've been noting the bearing numbers in this diagram. Most of them came from Coyote Patrol a couple of years ago. Regarding the damaged bearing, he used a 6205J. I'm not so sure about it, since the correct one is NUP 205 (52mm/25mm/15mm).

The washer could be fabricated, but I don't have the thickness.

Yep that's the washer.i installed a make shift washer and the bearing you mentioned.not a fan of the bearing tho, it has a plastic retainer.the one i pulled out was metal.counter shaft is in usable condition.minor damage.the bearing was the only failure in the trans.sounded terrible I have a video of it.not sure how to post.i will post back when she's up and going.thanks for your guys help.without this website I would be lost for parts.great group.thabks again guys for your time.means alot
