I did not know that retractors were available in 1969. Has anyone seen this before?

Retractors were not available on the '69. Maybe someone added an aftermarket type. My '69 has retracting seat belts, but they say GM on them. :o

Well, those belts look stock. I don't know what part is the retractor, unless it's the funny looking thing on the belt with the male end. If so, that looks like something that was added aftermarket.

Yes its weird, these look like stock even have a tag on them that looks almost exactly like the first photo in this thread. Only it doesn't say Datsun Patrol. Maybe these are from another Japanese vehicle of the era? Buckles look just like my original Patrol buckles, only no adjuster. Hmmm?

Can you get a closer shot of the adjuster?

I don't think the stock belts ever said 'Datsun Patrol' on them, unless that's something I've missed.

River
Check out the second pic that checkers submitted. Maybe he has edited and added it but there is a description that does say Datsun Patrol....also says TK-656-1A L2/1968 (?). I wonder if these could be from a FirePatrol or something oddball. Takata Kojyo made them so I would say they were for a Datsun/Nissan.
The retractor Ron speaks of is on the female side midway. It does look the era and maybe stock.

Yes, I see the adjuster/retractor on the belt with the female end (my bad in previous post). That's why I wanted a closer shot of it. Is it and adjuster or a retractor?

Now, I have to go look at some seat belts to see what they say...

Here is a couple pics of adjuster "not retractor", and a shot of the tag. Also something i missed, tag says 1966 TK 656 1. Interesting, let me know what you find.

Interesting adjuster. I've never seen anything like that. I am pretty sure it is aftermarket, maybe JC Whitney for the time - it says 'Patent Pending' on it. No auto manufacturer would release something that they didn't have full patent on.

I still have to look at a seat belt. I'll get a picture...
