Hood Windshield Bumpers

Got rust? Seats, panels, doors, windows, etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Body & Interior' category are here.

I searched the forum looking for the hood windshield bumpers and found that some people make them out of hockey pucks, and a few links that were expired. Does anyone have any source on these? or a replacement part? I have a 67, so they are a two hole bolt attachment. Thanks!

Also, is there a support brace under the hood that gives stability to prevent the hood from denting in? It seems to me it would need something as to not create large pressure dents, but maybe not.

I found this pic, these look correct? Where to find?

In fact, Mike has cranked out reproductions of most of the Patrol's rubber pieces:

Thanks Rob! Exactly what I needed. A bit expensive, I might try my hand at cutting some pucks first...

So, I couldn't muster up the dough for the hood bumper reproductions, so tried what someone mentioned with hockey pucks. I think they turned out pretty well. I mounted them on with bolts and extra wide washers under the hood for more support. Is this all for the hood bumbers as far as support under the hood? Was there ever a larger steel plate, or cross beam to help with the weight of the wind shield?

Nicely done!

The originals didn't have anything so you're better off now. They were a single piece rubber with little legs going into the holes.

They turned out great!

As a reminder- Before the first time you try to lay the windshield down on those bad-boys, be sure to apply generous amounts of WD40 or PB Blaster to the hinge pins...!

I have identified two (2) styles of Hood Windshield Bumpers:
