I’ve been looking at reducing the cabin noise.
In the cabin of my G60 with just some carpet on the floor it rates about 80dB. I find this really too noisy for my ears!
In researching some options there seem to be two main options (via ebay.com.au):
Stick on rubber/butyl with a metal heat shield
Dynamat http://www.dynamat.com/automotive-and-transportation/automotive-restoration/dynamat-xtreme/
Car Builders http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/19sq-f-Car-Sound-Deadener-insulation-material-w-application-roller-dampening-mat-/162059429381?hash=item25bb7ea605:g:T-8AAOSwn9lXKePm

And I’m sure there are more options available
Brush on or spray sound deadener
Motospray http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Motospray-Sound-Deadener-Brush-On-4L-/321892831864?hash=item4af24ed278:g:u5sAAOSwI-BWHWfs

Silent Running http://www.silentcoating.com/ This sounds great but not available in Australia and not on ebay.
My concern is if the vehicle gets wet, will these products encourage rust? This seems to be a bit of a downside on paint/spray. I did think I would treat all metal with rust inhibitor and paint them before applying sound deadening.
So what are your thoughts on reducing noise in the cabin?
