Fastening your license plate

I have spent many restless night trying to figure out the best way to attach the license plates. Fortunately, someone has done a comprehensive analysis of options (for a BMW). See https://www.e92n55.com/2017/05/how-to-b ... -hardware/

I am certain Rob will chime in with his solution.

Now maybe I can now move forward with better nights sleep.

What's wrong with screws and nuts?

Oh Leslie, are not Patrol owners as OCD as BMW owners?

Well I've been called an anal purist before. But screws and nuts are what was used for decades until the advent of plastic bumpers with threaded inserts.

They were actually referred to as license plate screws. They used a square nut.

Uh-oh...Esteban is correct! This deviation from stock will then give me nightmares. Time to sell the Patrol and start the restoration of Radio Flyer wagons. Then I could build an outbuilding for the projects.

Down vote. You could use bailing wire. You could also buy a Jeep.

Well..........if you want to be perfectly factory correct, there should be no license plate at all. The factory didn't put license plates on the Patrols, did they? LOL :character-bart:

Excellent point. The 1969 Patrol Leaflet omitted the front license plate and the front license plate bracket.

So now... should the Patrol be shown with or without the front license plate bracket? More restless nights ahead!!!
