DASH KNOBS REPLACEMENTS

Upgrades, downgrades, modernizations, alterations or just being creative.

I lost my wiper knob during a switch repair. I found some newer ones but they seemed out of place with the others. I eventually decided to produce my own. I molded/casted an existing knob in urethane plastic. Came out identical and fit right in with my existing knobs. Main issue is the rear slot where the switch locks into place, it has none. Instead I drilled a hole and added silicone inside to adhere with the switch rod. Works perfectly fine. Next step is to laser engrave the windshield graphics onto knob and then fill in white paint. I worked in a couple professional architectural model shops back in the day. We would cast stuff periodically. I don’t recall any of our casting work looking anywhere near as good as yours. Very nice work!

I have some casting supplies in storage. You’ve inspired me to break them out and try some stuff with Patrol parts.
