KABOOM! A few weeks ago, it was something like 233 degrees Fahrenheit here in the Sacramento area... Well, it was really only 114 degrees Fahrenheit (that's 45.5 degrees Celsius in case you swing that way!).. but that's really, really hot around these parts. Shortly after, I noticed that our Patrol was sitting kinda lopsided... Turns out that the heat caused the left rear tire to literally explode!
I coulda sworn that I'd taken a picture of the shredded tire, but I can't find it! Anyway, the tread separated from the tire for several inches and there were tire chunks laying about! It was ugly. I'm glad that it didn't happen while driving... that would have been bad.
Today, we got Aerogrl some new shoes! Just about had to take a second mortgage to buy them... but they look, and ride nice!A close up! I chose to stick with these (235/75R15) rather than go larger... I would have liked slightly taller tires, but not any wider. I like the old cookie cutter look. The next size in the same tire would have been 1" taller
AND 1" wider. I think I made the right choice!
Happy Monday!
