hi everyone

was wondering if i made extended shackles, say 2inch, do i need to add a block or fixed peice in the middle for strength/help stop inverting? or is that not generally an issue?

also, whats everyone else done with their sway bars? removed or extended link pins?

thankyou in advance

Good day down there,

You sure are a capable mechanic. That crossmember looks better than new.

Concerning the sway bar, mine was removed after the lift.

Ever hunted the water buffalo down there?

Patrolling to paradise,
(which has come to mean ... a place where my patrols no longer need fixing)

Hey mate cheers for the reply,

Haha I duno about capable, ;) thankyou tho, my father in law welded that cross member up for me. My welds proberly wouldnt have been much better then the rusty piece that come out!

Awesome. Did you remove both? Any complaints?

Haha nah no water buffalo. They are right up the northern end of aus. I'm down the southwest corner. Only Roos and wild pigs here.

Cheers

Ok then, once you get that Patrol back to spec you need to get up there and track some down! I'd think they are pretty good to eat too. I have eaten American bison and Cape buffalo. The Cape buffalo were much better than I thought. I got the last one at 5' as he charged from some elephant grass. Got him right as his horns were coming up to gore me. I hear your buffalo can take a similar dim view of hunters.

Anyway, I have paid to have three off road vehicles rebuilt in the last two years. In two cases we did remove the anti-sway bar because they don't fit after the lift and when off allow more suspension travel. Command and Control vehicle #5 (CCV5 aka Presidio Patrol) still has its in place as it was not lifted. Their value is mostly for road driving, asI i'm sure you know.

Patrolling to paradise,

That's pretty typical for the rust. Keep up the good work!
