L60Boerne's Santa's Sleigh

Builds, refurbishments, restorations, upgrades

There is always the possibility that it's only 30,000 miles. Stranger things have happened. For where this came from I would have expected to see a lot of body rot for 130,000 miles.

Oh, and it's going to need a heater.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Santa's sleigh will be field tested Feb 6-13. First on a hunt at The Lair with Plateaucal, then 4 days in the desert.

Changes since we acquired it:
- removal of welded on soft top frame
- rebuilt waterproof distributor, added Patronix starter
- added LED off road lights, as I type
- rebuilt total clutch and bearing which was largest problem
- new battery and wiring
- new lights and wiring to all corners
- new Rochester Carb...someone bought molds, you can get new, not rebuilt Rochesters now
- rebuilt both wiper motors
- rebuilt fuel pump
- removed and recoated fuel tank interior walls
- removed upper side window frames, glass and upper glass supports, as I typed
- relined emergency brake

Still required after field test - brakes are too soft. Ok for field test but way too soft for mountain driving.

Writing is an art. Some people have a way with words others not have way.

Santa's Sleigh is ready for field testing. Plateaucal will precide over the ceremony. It remains to be seen whether it makes it to the desert as we might have a license issue as public roads will be under tire.

Santa's sleigh has many cosmetic warts but Eddy the Eagle has rebuilt it mechanically in it's most needed areas.

As always your advice and parts have returned the sleigh to flight.

Patrolling with Plateaucal,
L60Boerne
