At this point they would probably provide about the same protection.

When it comes to restoring a Patrol, one is never enough.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Got a few minutes and started to disassemble the rear seats. The interior metal frames are corroded away. Very few bolts came off without breaking. The main frames are good and will be sanded down and powder coated but I think I will use the rear seats from Patrol2 as they are in much better shape. May have a set of rear seat frames available soon if anyone is interested.

Edgar,

Do you have an extra bracket that bolts the frame to the tub?

I am missing the one that goes in the driver rear corner of the passenger front corner of the tub. If your sitting in the seat, it would be the one on the right

The clean up process continues. Although Edgar has a long way to go to be back on the street, parts of him are looking great and those are small victories.
I get a lot of satisfaction out of taking a rusted, dirty old part and turning it into something that looks new. Blasting cabinets and Powder Coating are essential.
Making changes and trying new things is what the human experience is about. "There is no growth in the comfort zone and there is no comfort in growth zone."

Thanks Matt for sharing your experience with Powder Coating. It has been a great tool for this project.
