P40 motor on ebay

Parts for sale, or free

Looks like an old p40 that was converted or run on propane from a forklift. Been reading on here some guys getting patrols that have engines either blown or missing. Might be an option....

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to match the P40 to the transmission on our Patrols. Completely different in the back to the point that it will present the same challenges as installing any other manufacturer engine, V8s, diesels, etc.
Owner of the same Patrol since 1967

Ah nuts I thought they were swappable for some reason. NEEEVERMIIINDDDDD... guess some parts may be interchangeable but not whole motor swap.

Is the intake and exhaust manifold on a P40 engine that much better/improved that they would be worth $1200 (or whatever the Buy It Now price was)?

Maybe not 1200. I offered him 400$ for the intake and exhaust manifold. I would attribute the extra 20 hp to the intake and exhaust flow characteristics. The engine is essentially the same if you discount the intake/exhaust. I also want to run aweber carb with 2 barrels.

I’m hoping with mine being bored .030 over, the weber outlaw carb, and a p40 intake, I will have one powerful patrol. Ideally it would approach 190 horse and 285 lb ft
