Next project is a half hood for the engine compartment.
This will be a challenge for sure...
I got it photo shopped for a start to see what it will look like and since I am happy with that look, I am now working out how I will approach this project.
Probably wont need the bead roller, but will probably need to renew old friendships with some sheet metal guys I know...

A single touch will make them go one cycle and return to rest. It worked. Later on I replaced that with a wiper delay system from Hella.

Unfortunately I have not marked all the colors of the connectors at the switch and at the motor, so your sketch is great. I will add the following color key from the harness at the switch connector that you have in the upper right corner:

Park ---------> Y
Washer -----> LB
Speed 1 ----> LW
E (Ground) ---> B
Speed 2 ----> LR


Hello all, can anyone explain to me what the "Park" wire does? does it have something to do with an intermittent function of the wiper motor? Also, does anyone know where I might be able to find a replacement windshield wiper switch for a 1969 patrol? The shaft pulled out of mine so its in-op :( thanks!

Park is designed to get the wiper arms to stop in a predetermined position on the windshield so as to have them tucked out of the way and looking neat I guess.
Park means that the arms will always stop in the same position once the wiper switch/motor is turned OFF.

You probably have two options for a replacement switch.
Obviously, the best choice would be to find a NOS switch for sale, possibly on eBay which is a good start, but you must be persistent and not just look once and dismiss this lead if there are none listed the day you look.

Secondly, is to find a similar switch that will fit and work and just put your old knob on it.

I suppose a third option is just to replace it with whatever you can find that will get you out of trouble for now until what you seek turns up...

thanks a lot! How would one wire up the switch and motor when starting from scratch? I got rid of ALL the chassis wiring on my 69 patrol so I could put all fresh, clean, good wiring in.

And after looking through my switches, I think I do have a good wiper switch. It seems a previous owner cut off the original connector (6 slots with 5 pins) and sloppily soldered on a different connector (6 slot with 6 pins). I fixed the bad solder job and got it nice and neat. stupid question: the wiper switch has a "rotate" function on the knob for the washer nozzle function, correct?

I think the busted switch that I have is actually the headlight switch...i found the knob and push rod and ill try to attempt to repair it, or find something else to replace it.

It sure sounds like you are on to it yitzac.
Slow and easy I always say will get you thru...

Maybe somebody else more familiar with early Nissan cars and Patrols would know if all switches came with the washer function in the switch.
I have a suspicion that they did not, but I am no expert...

I have seen a headlight switch used as a wiper switch years ago in another vehicle, I guess you got to run with what you some times.
Not pretty but it did give the guy wipers.
