Approaching a Motor Rebuild

Won't run? Engine, cooling system, fuel pump, carb, clutch, tranny, brakes, etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Engine & Mechanical' category are here.

This post is for the noobs.

When approaching a P Motor, what parts are a no brainer to order and replace?

What parts are unobtanium?

I want to get everything squared away before I tear down this motor or bring it to a professional. Still undecided on which path I take.

A gasket kit to start. Most of the actual parts you can't pre-order, because you don't know what it's going to need until you tear it apart and inspect.

Just found this rebuild set for a gearbox on eBay AU.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Gearbox-Ove ... 3d5e300184

Its from 4WD products. No real detail on what is included.

I haven't used this product but have used other 4WD Products

http://www.ebaystores.com.au/4wd-produc ... 34.c0.m322
Not sure if I will get there.
Not sure if I will get back.
But I usually do!!!

Sorry to hear that.

I've always wondered if the face could be resurfaced at a machine shop. I know the originals are hardened, but we have better oils today.
