whats the estimated length of the trans and TC once its all together? I still think you will have rear driveshaft issues because of how long the trans is

I've always suspected as much. But I'm going to give it a try nevertheless. I'm not sure exactly how long it's going to be. I'm going to get the original stuff out and set them side by side for measurements....hopefully within a week.

Here's a little side note video I made on dealing with driveshaft length. https://youtu.be/aZMj_a5xmEw I've got another video of the new drivetrain mostly assembled that I'm still in the process of editing. Subscribing on YouTube is the best way to make sure you don't miss out on any videos of this whole process. I don't make any money off of any of these videos yet...but maybe one day.

Here's a link to the next chapter in this saga. https://youtu.be/E8GKiP4H0yQ
At this point I've got everything fused together for the replacement transmission and transfer case. Here's a teaser picture just to show you what it looks like.

Unfortunately I wrote all the measurements down on paper instead of my phone so I'm not positive at the moment. I'll be home in about 6 weeks then I'll post all the exact measurements. What I can tell you for sure, that you can see in the next video I'm going to post, is that the new setup is about 7-8 inches longer than the original. The original driveshaft had 16 inches of pipe so the new one would be about 9 inches, plus the U-joints. With a double cardan it'll be right at the limit. We shall see if it works.

Not planning on it. It has 30's on it right now which gives it an ideal height in my opinion. However, if it ends up being necessary to get the driveshaft to work then...maybe.

lifting the patrol will make the driveshaft business worse, as it will increase your driveline angle even more. would actually be best to lower it lol

this is why i didn't go with a 5 speed when I did my swap....i knew i would run into rear driveshaft problems with a longer trans.

Here's the latest video. https://youtu.be/3Tz1thLtCH0
I think it's got some pretty good stuff in it that'll be of interest to a lot of people who are thinking about similar projects. Here's another teaser photo. Enjoy!
