Builds, refurbishments, restorations, upgrades

I’m with River on retaining the original location. (Despite a drawback or two)
The low and centered position also also keeps the CG in a better place.

Well, my first time on the road with my freshly restored Patrol, I went to the hardware store. On my way out I saw smoke roiling out of the passenger compartment. I pulled the seat forward, popped the battery cover to watch the cable melting down. Ran back in grabbed a pair of pliers and pulled the wire before it started on fire. Still don't like that thing sitting under my seat.

Costa Rica is a fun country! Rained the entire time we were in Arenal, though! Did you visit the butterfly sanctuary?

Hey Brett,

Glad you are recovering. You are doing a great job on getting your Patrol back in the bush. No, we didn't have time for that but the weather was perfect. We got some great pictures of sloths, multiple vipers and a monkey or two. Even several days without clouds around the top of the volcano.

Good to hear from you,

Greetings,

Eddy has Phoenix Patrol together. The amp and fuel gauge reads backwards.

I am having APT switch the F and E on a gauge so that solves the fuel gauge. Any ideas on the amp gauge?

Almost Patrolling,

I think if you reverse the two leads on the back of the amp gauge it should fix it. I think that was necessary when the polarity is reversed on the battery since they were originally a positive ground. Esteban can verify. I think Togo's amp gage still reads reversed.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Yup, if the ammeter is reading backwards, just switch the wires around... :handgestures-thumbup:

The wire from the starter/battery + should be aligned with the + side of the ammeter, and the wire that goes from the ammeter back to the fuse block should be on the - side

Greetings,

New Issue - we have searched the forum with no clear solution in the threads.

Doors will not stay shut - Eddy thing star gears are worn. Any suggestions?
