Fog lights.

Looking at my 69 Patrol, it appears that is pre-wired for fog lights. However, it takes a different switch. If anyone can ever figure out where to get a switch let me know. It seems that the part number is 25160-46503. Not sure if this wiring was in place on earlier models.

OEM Fog lights were a factory option on all 60 series patrols going back to the very earliest of the early trucks... They even came painted the same exterior color as the truck.

I thought the fog light switch was just an extra toggle switch on the center panel next to the map light, but I'm not 100% on that, But "you know who" will be along shortly to lend a full breakdown on all the missing details...

I've been summoned. I haven't ever looked into it. I was going to do that when I went to install my set. I don't recall that I've ever seen a brochure with a vehicle that had them. Sorry to disappoint.

There is a part number 25160-46501 which appears to be the earliest headlight switch with the fog light function. My switch has four wires, the molded connector has five. The fifth wire then travels to where it stubs out of the harness on the front right side of the bulkhead in the engine bay. It is a red with green stripe wire as shown on the wiring diagram. So anyway, maybe an old Datsun roadster switch would work (they often had aux. lights). Some maybe useful trivia from a bored patroller.

By chance do the older screw post light switches (pre 69) have a function that allows the knob to turn? I would have to think that is the only way they could have a three way switch that controls three sets of lights (headlight, running lights and fogs).

Interestingly I have a switch that looks exactly like the wiper switch. But it has a non-springloaded function thats similar to the windshield washer function (which is spring loaded). Could it be? Time to get out the ohm meter. Or is is just sticky.

As far as I know none of the headlight switches allow the knob to turn.

There had to be a functionality in the headlight switch that allowed for the fog lights to work as that is where the fog light wire goes to. It even shows on the wiring diagram as such. sooooo, big mystery.

Maybe they came on with the parking lights? Since the parking lights are only on on the first click, and go off with the headlights. Or maybe with the headlights.

I will research the answer to this question when I install my OEM foglights on my 62 Patrol...
