It's been slow going on my 62 Project, but I did spend the day today working on the donor body- specifically breaking down the soft top frame (and snapping just about every bolt along the way... ) Toughest part was getting the frame loops out of the anchor sockets that are bolted into the rea...

{Sigh} Do any of you remember when I USED to work on Nissan Patrols....? Well, my days as a Nissan Patrol guru have been superseded by my recent foray into being a Mazda Miata guru. My daughter, aka: the "apple that doesn't fall far from the tree" bought her little 95 Miata to do some trac...

Re: 1967 Family Patrol Project
I recall that the zerks are an odd size but I don't think I ever found out what size. I've always had to reuse the old ones. yup, either re-use, or buy slightly larger diameter new ones with a known thread pitch, and re-tap the shackle pins (pain)... typically, as long as the spring inside the zerk...

El Bondo should have been there.. with me driving it. I gotta get this 62 painted and back together...
Fair weather for the next 5 months, and at present I'm running out of excuses not to be out in the shop working on it.
Looks like you guys had a blast. hope to see some videos posted soon

She's mostly just hot-lapping for time. However, the kid treats the accelerator pedal more like an "on/off switch" when she's out there.faux40 wrote:

A "boxes of parts" project.... Minus the boxes.
Makes me shudder.
But still- tons of value here as a parts rig for anyone doing a mid-66 or later resto.

Yeah, ummmmm..... No. Nothing going on with this project. it's HOT... really hot. Phoenix Arizona hot. :happy-sunshine: I did, however, get to swap another engine into my daughter's little race Miata last week. (That's the second Miata engine in 6 months, for those of you keeping score) I told her t...
