1969 Patrol For Sale

My nephew in law wants to sell his 69 Patrol, that used to be mine. It is a nice one with a very sound drive train, all original (probably the most original one you will ever see). It's the late 1969 model, truly the rarest of all Patrols, and maybe one of the rarest cars in the World according to R...

Re: 1966 Patrol- Flagstaff AZ

Eddie and I will pick it up this weekend and the work will begin…..if it is a runner. 50Car, Zed and Justin have helped with some needed parts and they are much appreciated. However, we still need a steering wheel horn assembly, any condition. If you have one, I’d be glad to buy it. The pictures sh...

Re: Disk brake failure

There are slight differences in the parts drawings between the dual and single reservoir systems. With brakes....millimeters make a difference. Anyway, back to the disc brake discussion.

Re: Disk brake failure

I still have reservations regarding the dual reservoir setup for drum-drum braking. The overall stroke on the Patrol pedal is limited by the original geometry (see parts drawing on service manual). The new dual reservoir system seems like it could stand to have a longer overall stroke based on the ...

Re: Disk brake failure

Does brake adjustment add into the equation? Some folks don't know how to adjust brakes. A quarter or half inch wouldn't be unhear of.

Re: Disk brake failure

I don't remember the exact numbers, but it seem like the Wilwood needed more stroke in order for it to operate the tandem cylinder in the event of a failure. At best, you should have no freeplay with this conversion. The Patrol pedal bottoms out on the metal floor pan at 1" of stroke as I recal...

Re: Disk brake failure

Here is another analysis of a brake system. Really good stuff. Also shows analysis by FEA.
