Re: 1968 L60 Starter Motor
Sorry for the confusion. Here is the link from Amazon that worked. I ordered it once but was unsure of fit due to the size difference (it is quite a bit smaller), so I made a half hearted attempt to install and then returned it. My mistake. Esteban convinced me that this is the correct starter so I ...

Re: 1968 L60 Starter Motor
And once again, Esteban, is the man. New starter in and cranking along.
After a few months of no Patroling, it’s back onto the dirt roads of SGI, FL we go.
Thanks all.
Dave

1968 L60 Starter Motor
Looking for some guidance on starter motor replacement… A month or so ago my Hitachi starter motor went out (busted drive). I took it to a Tallahassee starter/alternator shop and they could not find any parts and/or replacement. On 60patrol I read a post with this Amazon link for replacement: https:...

Re: Rochester Carb Replacement
Life is funny sometimes. Started my Patrol with new Carb and now the starter motor is spinning away. Spent two hours fighting the starter motor removal, finally done after dropping the front driveshaft. Hopefully I’ll find a Tallahassee shop to rebuild. As Tres (the guy I purchased my rear end from)...

Re: Rochester Carb Replacement
New carburetor installed. Seems to be good quality. I had to order a specific fuel line adapter (eBay, $12), and drill a small hole in the air cleaner tub to accommodate the adapter.
Started right up but need to make some jet/idle adjustments.

Re: Rochester Carb Replacement
Thanks River. I have ordered a new Rochester B replacement from Mike’s Carburetors. More expensive than the Amazon example so we’ll see how it goes. I’ll provide an update once it’s installed.

Rochester Carb Replacement
Here’s an oldie but a goldie topic… I’ve had my Rochester carburetor rebuilt once (National Carburetor out of Jacksonville, 2021), and for various reasons maybe it’s time for a replacement. It looks like I can buy a new flavor of same carb from multiple sites ((Mike’s, Temu, Summit). Thoughts? 1969 ...

Re: 60 Rear Axle Failure
What a long, strange trip it’s been…. After breaking an axle shaft several months ago, and my ‘69 Patrol being on blocks since, I’ve learned a lot. And I’m glad to say the Patrol is now back on the road. What I learned…. -My Patrol did not have any axle spacers or shims installed. Back brakes were i...

Re: 60 Rear Axle Failure
After many weeks I just received three new axle spacers, fresh off the lathe. Now I can hopefully get this Patrol back on the dirt roads of SGI.
