looks good tim, the bonnet a bit wet, is that from the bog hole ? I though its illegal to drive with no doors ? I always want to when grunty is registred, but some members said its was illegal ? If going engine conversion route can use landcruiser gearbox and transfer as they are offset to correct side.
Or you can buy a adapter for what ever engine and gearbox you like to a rover lt230 transfer case.

I would be really interested if you find anything that will bolt to the original p engine

Geese mundy,no brakes in a old 6 would be interesting bet the old 1st and second gears got a work out. You can get universal linkages of eBay for about 20 bucks, you would want a 2" one and they are adjustable
