Wiring diagrams

Flames? Lights wiring, alternator/generator, etc.

Postby poinrobe » Fri Aug 21, 2020 3:10 pm

I am going to try to resurrect this thread.... I am currently restoring a 1966 Patrol. I am somewhat confused by the wiring.. surprise surprise :) Did Nissan make significant changes to the electrical system that year? My unit is wired with a POSITIVE GROUND. Is this correct for early 66 models? All the wiring diagrams I have seen for the patrol show it to be a Negative Ground system. the other differences I have noticed with the 66 compared to the 67 model are:

1. Screw connectors on the Gauge cluster as opposed to the spade terminals seen on later models
2. No 9 volt regulator for the Gauges
3. Generator as opposed to an alternator.

Am I correct? Any other differences between the 66 and 67.

additionally does anyone have a copy of the wiring diagram for 65 or earlier that includes the wiring color codes?

thanks, poinrobe

I started a new thread for this. The other thread wasn't really a discussion thread.
Beyond any hope for intervention

I'm not sure what you're asking for? This is the new thread.

Here is a page with diagrams.

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=1671

You can also find year specific wiring diagrams in the links to the various service manuals and owners manuals that are found herein. Look in the forum main page under "Manuals". I am not sure when they went to the spade connectors but is was after 66 I think.. The gauge regulator came along around the same time as spade connectors .

You can also look in the above referenced manuals to determine some of these differences.
