drivers side door latch
i have a 67 Patrol and the driver's side door won't stay closed,at all now. i tried building up the round tooth piece but that didn't last at all. it may be the door needs adjusting to make everything line up properly, but i have a feeling that it is just plain worn out.
any help appreciated. and i am willing to pay for the parts, and shipping, for a good working latch

Re: drivers side door latch
Those latches seem to be a hot commodity lately. Sorry I can't help you out.

Re: drivers side door latch
i am wondering if our friends from Australia would have a better set being that it would be on the passenger side for them and maybe not used as much?

Re: drivers side door latch
The door latch on your '67 was only used 2 years, '66 and '67. Most of the Aussie G60s are later models with different latches.

Considering the situation, give it another try at repairing. I did some adjustments also that I had posted. I do need to get back on it a bit but did make a huge gain for the most part. When I read your post I was thinking of how much this sounded like my driver door issue....especially the door flying open on the right turns. Funny now but not when the door is head on with on coming cars. And, even more hilarious when I did not have door stops on.
Sit down in line with the passenger door and take note of how it lines up, just copy that to start and things kind of started revealing more ideas to tweak it. My door does not fly open now....and I don't have to slam it 20 times either!
BTW, I think the doors are meant to be shimmed with thin washer type shims on the hinge and flat shims behind hinge plate to get it close.... Then latch adjustments.
You'll get it right.
