Dave, my brother only beliefs in that method. He thinks it's the perfect one for a solo operation.

What he has done is purchase a big veterinarian use syringe (think cattle) and use it to send the fluid upwards from the bleeder to the Master Cylinder. In fact, I gave him my Mighty Vac when I moved to the States, and it's collecting dust.

On the other hand, I only use the Mighty Vac. No more going out of sync with my wife when she's helping me bleed the brakes, and the mandatory cursing that follows ( don't send this to the Patrol Jokes ;) )

I like this approach better, since in theory, you are taking out all the aged fluid beginning with the master cylinder, and sending it out through the bleeders. On the push method, you might send some debris from the wheel cylinders that could end up in the master cylinder.

When I first got my patrol I changed all fluids. I opened all bleed screws and let it sit all nite. I then filled master a few times and then closed system. Ready to bleed.

I'm pointing to the spot that gets pinched.....the pinholes in the cover are from the brake shoes corners. Maybe smooth them out but I would not grind the corner off just for this tiny hole.

Old and .....Older brake cylinders.

Cleaned up and ready for action.

A double flare tool is what I used for the hard brake line....not single! As for the aftermarket brake hose, the retainer clips work fine in lieu of the 5/8" nut.
Bled the brakes and they work fine.

Rattled some implants loose and made my door pop open here and there but we charged up there and just camped out, short hike, read, thought about flying a kite....but didn't ....dogtime. Real important stuff!
