Front brake cylinder parts

Won't run? Engine, cooling system, fuel pump, carb, clutch, tranny, brakes, etc. The old messages from the NPCA 'Engine & Mechanical' category are here.

If they are a long ways from contacting the drums it will take two pumps of the pedal to get the shoes to move far enough to contact the drums. Try adjusting the shoes to where they just make contact with the drums, i would bet this solves your problem. :D
You were absolutely correct and you would win that bet, it just took minor adjustments to make them work great :D And it's amazing how little, each wheel was just one notch too loose on each adjustment cam, but that was enough that now the pedal goes down to about 2-3 inches off the floor, which is better than it has ever been since I've owned the Patrol. It is a pleasure to drive it with real brakes! I'm so used to pumping the brakes ever since I've owned the Patrol I have to unlearn that habit now. I can now finally move on to the next Patrol project, so many to choose from................... Thanks again for the advice!
