Well brakes are giving me a head ache, at least the front drums.. Refuse to come off. I cant see beating them to death. Will take to Schwabs for free break inspection... Ha Ha
Adjusted and bleed them to a opperable state. I then finaly got to get it on the road to the gas station... after 10 min. on the road some life in the beast at last, just running it a little seamed to get rid of the backfire and carb issue. It was sweet. moter sounds pretty healthy. Will get it preaser washed tomorrow and see whats really leaking. Shwabs on
Saturday. Will figure out where I really am with the breaks. I know the right rear cylinder is bad. Shoes are ok. hope the fronts are better.

I'm sure that just polishing the rear cylinders and new seals will do the job.

Regarding taking the front drums, spray good amounts of penetrating oil at the contact parts, stud holes, and let it do the job for a couple of days.

I have a bad feeling about taking brakes to shops if they are anywhere near worn. They sometimes play this game where they say by law they cannot let you leave/drive your car off until they are fixed. This happened to me once and the shit hit the fan, short story....I stole my car back. Ahhhhh, barely surviving in L.A., what memories!!!
I would encourage you to take those cylinders off and rework them as Esteban suggests. I only say this because I have done it, and if I can.......

Well if they have an Officer on site I may care, I'll think about it again, Did find a place in Portland Or. to Re-line the shoes if needed. About 18 bucks per. Sounds like a winner to me. The do a lot of antique car stuff to. Water pumps etc. Very reputable. There called. Automotive Fricktion. Thanks Guys.

Well I ended up getting the fronts off my self. Small handled sludge did the trick. Good news.... they look great pads and all. JUST NEED TO ORDER A REAR CYLINDER AND i'M GOOD TO GO ...AS FAR AS BREAKS GO ANYWAY. Thanks for the motivation.

I will, I notice the emergeny brake also has a cylinder or piston running off the brake line looks to have a bit of a leak. Is this going to be an issue when I get my rears doen?
Will me brakes still not work propoerly? How does that emergency brake work any way? PS Had a bad day with an oil filter. I was worried about oil getting to the top end of the moter and the oil gauge wasn't working so I thought to change filter to see if that would increase oil up to the top end. after pulling the oil filter apart there were no springs
washers etc. on the old install. The filter I bought had some rubber o rings. I installed as best I could. Also found the oil pres, guage wire was disconected. fixed that. works now. Installed oil filter. Turned the Moter on reved it up..... Noticed all my oil on the garage floor! Dang that rubber washer! I took it off and all is well after buying 30 bucks worth of oil! Live and learn. Please reply to the question reguarding the emergeny brake.

Well maybe thats the clutch slave cylinder I was looking at???

You answered your own question. The clutch slave runs off a separate hydraulic system, so it won't affect your brakes. But, if the clutch slave is leaking it should be fixed, otherwise you'll have clutch issues. Make sure that it is actually leaking, it could be a leak from somewhere else that is finding that spot to drip. Brake fluid is thinner than oil, and it breaks down and turns white in water, so it's easy to test.
