Re: Water pump seal number
You could of course cut one out by hand....they look like this if you're talking pump to engine gasket.....what about ultra/mega black gasket maker?

# 21074-58000 in the '71 parts book in the manuals section.

I think I wrote it wrong, the paper gasket I can do, but is there a seal on the shaft anywhere?

There is an eyeopening amount of exploded drawing in the parts catalogs. I learn the most looking at these. Plus it will give you some #'s. Some are old ones but still info links......Download one of the parts catalogs, here is '71, it is in the engine section.

Wow the seals on the inside are felt, I guess they get grease also when you do the bearings. Thank you so much, oh yea I also found out the bracket I thought some how held the battery down was actually a license plate bracket

Re: Water pump seal number
So I took apart 2 waterpumps yesterday and both were bad, then I contacted Will at kelloggs in AZ and he has the parts for the total rebuild including the shafts, he knows his waterpumps, I'll be ordering the parts today
