No updates for a while sooo... I charged the battery a couple of days ago and it still apears to be loosing charge so I'll need to investigate my altinator a little further. I have a friend of mine giving the '72 a service today to sort out a few issues for me. She's running pretty rich and since my little conk out on the weekend its running like crap. I might have picked up some gunk off the bottom of the tank when i ran it dry
Put the 33's back on it though and loooooove the way my rebuilt factory wheels look.. I'm going to get slammed for not posting a pic but you'll have to wait.
Ive really been enjoying driving my '72 but I hate that I cant take the whole family with me. I just dont trust it with the kids in the back and no protection, especially if we were to go off road.
So I've been debating putting a cage in it for some time. Today I bit the bullet and booked it in to have a full cage built.
Wont happen for a couple of weeks while the shop catches up but heres a couple of examples of how mine will look.. close to it anyway. (please excuse the Toyota )

.....You need solid protection too big dude and besides, that thing is rockin. Figure in your seat vs the posts and I guess your wiper motors to not be on the windscreen helps....It will be to the frame right? Tubing through floor or mating plates with bolts? Ive been happy with how my front verts are placed in that all the door handles just clear and besides there being a bar there when you get in, it is a good knee rest on the road. We have not heard from Rawmi lately but review his cage....I like the 1" tube gussets in the upper frame corners that double as noshit handles.
It was a beautiful day today and I just bought some peep mirrors so I can run without the doors. So I mounted them and took the soft top off. Went for a drive and........

arrowed it down to the fuel pump.. Went home and pulled the pump from HP and got it running enough to get me home.
I think there must be crap in the fuel tank/line cos this isn't the first time it's happened!
